This is the first CD by the French trio in the Leo Records catalogue. François Lana is on piano,
Phelan Bourgoyne on drums and Fabien Iannone on bass. François Lana and his pals are trying something new.
There are eight compositions on this CD and each piece is inspired by a different jazz great, be it
Thelonious Monk, Andrew Hill, Paul Bley, etc. Mind you, this is not the music by the jazz colossi,
it's rather that their music is being an inspiration. In other words, François Lana is trying to catch
the spirit of the music rather than the notes. How close is he to achieving his goals? It's for you to find out.
